Now more than ever, Ukraine is in need of our support. Almost 3 years after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Moscow is now in control of 20% of Ukrainian sovereign

territory, a number that would be significantly higher were it not for the resolve and dedication of Ukraine’s defenders.

Alongside Putin’s aggression and the rise of the far right across Europe and in the United StatesEuropean security is under greater threat today than at any time since the Cold War. And as Europeans, we must stand together.

In that spirit, European Movement UK is supporting the March for Ukraine, taking place in London on Saturday 22nd February 2025, alongside the Trade Union Congress and other civil society organisations.

The march will assemble at 12 noon at Saint Volodymyr’s statue, London, W11 3QY (50 metres from Holland Park tube station and 300 metres from Notting Hill Gate tube station).

The march will then make its way towards the Russian Embassy, where a rally will take place at 1:00pm. As Chair of the European Movement , I will have the honour of speaking , where I will make clear the European position – Ukraine is fighting not just for its own freedom, but for the freedom of all of Europe, and of liberal democracy across the world.

Let us send a message to our government that the British people have not forgotten about out brave friends in UkraineWill you join me in London and make those demands heard? The march is being organised by the Ukraine solidarity campaign – click here to visit their website and get further details about how to take part.

I look forward to seeing you there –

Dr Mike Galsworthy
